A little bit of a change

BP started his own blog. He hasn't actually posted to it yet, but that's ok, he's a busy man. Because he started his own, I personalized this one back to me. Maybe someday he'll decide to join me on a family blog. Maybe I'll keep this one for me, and create the family blog after we start having kids and such, something to share with family and via facebook, etc. For now, I like that this one is a little more private.

We have a lot of big changes in the works. My house sale is still pending. We are currently working out all of the home inspection issues. The buyers are being obnoxiously demanding, basically insisting that a new deck be built for them because of some rotting issues with the bottom of mine, having a couple pieces of siding from under the deck level replaced for the same issue and some random other small things. I'm frustrated, because they got a screaming deal on the house as it is, but I'm also not willing to let the deal fall through. After my place sells and we refinance his, we'll basically be paying about 1/3 of what we are currently paying for mortgage and bills. So, even if it costs a bit now, we should be able to make it up pretty quickly.

We also bought a truck!

We've been looking at vehicles for several months now. We pretty much decided what we wanted, but brand new was a little out of our price range. So, we kept looking and kept looking and then BP finally found this gem on Craigslist. It's used, has about 25,000 miles, but it's also significantly less than we would have paid for it new. I'm pretty excited. I don't feel like we're compromising what we wanted, and we got it for a much affordable price. It's a huge cab, as much leg room as in the front and plenty of room for three car seats :-). I figure by the time we need more than that, it will be time for a new ride anyway. We should be picking the truck up by the end of this week. Then it's time to sell my college car... yes folks, I am still driving my college car, beauty that it is. The time has come for us to finally part ways. It's sad, but again, I'm excited to have something more practical for the bikes and dogs that is also a bit safer for winter driving.

That's really about it... and realizing that I am woefully unprepared for the wedding. The problem is I don't know where to even start. Maybe I should just suck it up and hire a wedding planner after all.

I love the bit about the three readers. ;) If that's truly the case, I'm glad to be one of them.

That really stinks about the house stuff. I hope everything works out. Paying 1/3 of what you are now will be fabulous!

Congrats on the new truck! Will you be down to one vehicle once you sell your car?

Thanks Lisa! We will actually be down to three cars. My work car, the newer truck and his restored 67 Ford that isn't the most reliable of things. Grace.... A wedding planner would probably be a really good thing for me,as it will be for you someday.
